[Editorial] Public trust: the vaccine against vaccine hesitancy

One of the greatest achievements in the history of public health has been protection against infectious diseases by vaccinations which is of considerable importance in controlling respiratory diseases. Vaccinations against influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), pneumococcal disease, and COVID-19, to name but a few, save millions of lives globally every year, and remain the most effective prevention tools from severe health outcomes, playing a pivotal role in reducing health-care costs, and protecting communities and vulnerable individuals.
