Proteogenomic Insights Into Type 1 Diabetes: Refining Biomarkers and Therapeutic Targets

We are writing in response to the article by Lu et al. (1), which was recently published in Diabetes. In their research, the authors identify four circulating proteins (CTSH, IL27RA, SIRPG, and PGM1) that could act as potential risk factors for type 1 diabetes (T1D). Through Mendelian randomization, they propose that these proteins could serve as biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
